Examples of projects - Joure: Bridge

The areas of Skipsleat and Wyldehoarne in Joure are connected by a very special bridge. Upon commission of the project, the municipal government stated that the bridge must provide a distinctive landmark for the region, and we certainly achieved that objective. The bridge, 130 metres in length and 20 metres in height, was manufactured and assembled entirely by Nijholt. The bridge is suspended by guy ropes from four pylons which rise out of the water, creating the illusion that the bridge is floating. The bridge has a steel frame and a wooden deck.
